To our GalaxyCon community

Due to the current situation regarding Covid-19 we will be postponing our July 30 – August 2, 2020 GalaxyCon Raleigh event. The new event dates for GalaxyCon Raleigh are December 10-13, 2020.

Based on our discussions with the convention center, the Raleigh CVB, and other city and state officials it does not look like we will be able to put on the type of event that our attendees have come to expect from us. The health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors, staff, and community partners are of the utmost importance to us, and we believe it is in everyone’s best interests to postpone the event.

We know that many will be disappointed by this decision, as we were all looking forward to spending a weekend together celebrating our favorite fandoms, meeting new people, reconnecting with old friends, and having incredible experiences. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for us to make. GalaxyCon is a small business run by a core team of 10 passionate individuals that work 365 days a year to put on events for fans like you. Postponing or canceling an event like GalaxyCon not only affects us and our fans, but our exhibitors, artists, volunteers, show staff, and community partners.

That being said, we have three options for anyone who has already purchased a ticket for GalaxyCon Raleigh 2020

Option #1: Transfer your ticket to our new dates of December 10-13, 2020 (before July 15th) and get a GalaxyCon store merchandise credit. We are planning our December event to be a smaller more exclusive event with approximately 40% of our usual attendance. We’ll work just as hard as we always do to put on an amazing event with an incredible list of celebrities, voice actors, comic book creators, exhibitors, craftspersons, and artists, but attendance will be limited to allow for more open space. Tickets to this event will be EXTREMELY LIMITED and once they are gone, they’re gone! Please note that if you transfer your ticket and are unable to attend the December event you will be able to transfer your December ticket to a ticket for our July 29 – August 1, 2021 GalaxyCon Raleigh event. If the December event is canceled for any reason, your ticket will automatically be transferred to a credit for our 2021 event.

By transferring to a December ticket (before July 15th) you will also receive a GalaxyCon store merchandise credit that you can use on our online store or at our booth at the event. This merchandise credit can be used for anything in our store, such as T-Shirts, Autographed 8×10’s, Jackets, Hoodies, Stickers, Exclusive Variant Comics, Posters, and more!

Merchandise Credits will be issued as follows

VIP Tickets: $125 Merchandise Store Credit

4 Day Deluxe Tickets: $65 Merchandise Store Credit

4 Day Full Weekend tickets: $50 Merchandise Store Credit

3 Day Weekend Tickets: $40 Merchandise Store Credit

Thursday Tickets: $15 Merchandise Store Credit

Friday Tickets: $20 Merchandise Store Credit

Saturday Tickets: $25 Merchandise Store Credit

Sunday Tickets: $20 Merchandise Store Credit

Please note that if you transfer your ticket and are unable to attend the 2021 event you will be able to transfer your 2021 ticket to a ticket for our 2022 GalaxyCon Raleigh event.

Option #3: Anyone who purchased a GalaxyCon Raleigh ticket before 3/14/20 may request a refund for your ticket purchase. If you do not wish to transfer to one of the upcoming events you can submit a request for a refund on your ticket purchase. Please note that refunds will be processed in the order they are received and once processed may take up to 4 weeks to clear your account, depending on your financial institution. All tickets purchased after 3/14/20 are subject to the updated terms of service and cancellation policy and are not eligible for a refund, only a transfer to a future event. All requests for refunds must be made by July 15, 2020. At that point, anyone who has not requested a refund will have their ticket transferred to our July 29 – August 1, 2021 event. HOTEL BOOKING INFORMATION

Anyone who had a hotel reservation for our July 30 – August 2, 2020 event made thru our booking platform has been automatically cancelled and will receive a confirmation email regarding the cancellation. Before hotel rooms are made available to the general public for the December event on July 2, we will be giving first option to anyone who had made a reservation for the original dates. If you had a reservation for the original dates you will receive an email with instructions on how to book a room for the new December dates.

EXHIBITORS, ARTISTS, and VENDORS

We will be contacting each of you individually via email with a Google Form to fill out. You have 3 options as well.

Option #1 – TRANSFER TO DEC 2020

Transfer your booth or table space to our December 10-13, 2020 event. Space at our December event will be EXTREMELY LIMITED. If you transfer your space to our December event, you will be guaranteed a spot. It is UNLIKELY that we will make any additional spaces available for sale and that all spaces will be filled by existing exhibitors. In addition to having a guaranteed spot at our December event, anyone who chooses this option will have first option to sign up for our July 29 – August 1, 2021 event. You would be automatically approved and not have to fill out an application. As well, you will be able to purchase your 2021 space at 2020 prices with no increase in fees, as booth and table pricing will be increasing for the 2021 event. Option #2 – TRANSFER TO JULY 2021

Transfer your booth or table space to our July 29 – August 1, 2021 event. Your space order would be transferred to our 2021 event with no increase in fees, as booth and table pricing will be increasing for the 2021 event. If you would like to transfer your booth space to our July 2021 event, please fill out the Google Form that we have emailed you directly. Option #3 – REFUND

Request a refund on your space order. If you would like a refund on your space order, please fill out the Google Form that we have emailed you directly. If you have any questions, please email exhibitors@galaxycon.com , and we will assist you. Please note that if you request a refund you will need to reapply for any future events. We do not expect to have any space available to sell for our December 2020 event, and it is unlikely that many spaces (if any) will be available for our July 2021 event. Refunds will be processed in the order they are received and once processed may take up to 4 weeks to clear your account, depending on your financial institution.

PANELISTS & VOLUNTEERS

Information on panelists and Volunteers for our December event will be posted on our website shortly

While we can’t get together at this time, we are doing our best to connect with fans through GalaxyCon Live! with virtual events. Each week we have celebrity guests take part in free Q&A’s as well as participate in virtual one-on-one chats with fans, sign autographs, and record video messages. We also have two livestream shows each week, GalaxyCon Talks Comics! and GalaxyCon Presents: Rock Around the Ring. GalaxyCon Talks Comics! features interviews with comic book writers and artists, while Rock Around the Ring focuses on Wrestling and Rock & Roll superstars.
