Christopher Irving, PhD is a comic book historian and independent scholar. His books include Graphic NYC: The Complete Essays, Cliffhanger! The Cinematic Superheroes of the Serials, and Comics Introspective: Peter Bagge. 2006's The Blue Beetle Companion marks him as the only published historian of the character's long history. Irving is also the curator of Mike Allred's Madmaniverse, producing swag of Allred's cult indy comics Madman and The Atomics. He can be found moderating the comics panels.
